Frequently Asked Questions

How do I add a LEAP to My Portfolio page?

First, go to the Artist Index to see if the artist of your LEAP is already listed. If so, click on their name and you will be taken to their Artist Gallery. Then, check the LEAPs listed for that artist. If your LEAP is there you click on "Add to My Portfolio" and you will be taken to your portfolio page. Some of the information will be automatically entered for you and you can enter your personal information about your LEAP.

How do I add artwork to My Portfolio?

Just go to "My Portfolio" page and click on one of the ADD to MY PORTFOLIO buttons in the light grey bar near the top of the page.  Here you will find five links to choose from Limited Edition from Database,  Limited Edition Not Meeting Leap Criteria,  Original Artwork,  Photograph and Poster or Open Edition Print .  Choose the type of artwork that most closely represents the wall art you are wanting to add to your portfolio and follow the instructions from there.

What if my artist or title is not in the Artist Gallery? How can I suggest a new artist that I would like to have included in the LEAPdirect database?

Go to the Artist Index page and click on "Request to add an Artist" and complete the form. This can also be done from your Dashboard.

How can I suggest an artwork title to be included in an artist’s gallery?

You can click on the "Request Title" button at the bottom of the Artist Gallery page or you can go to the Artist Index page and click on "Request to add an Artist". You can also reach the request form from your Dashboard. Complete the form.

I want to add my Limited Edition Art Print to the database but your committee has rejected it. Why?

Our requirements for being listed are fairly simple. First, the Artist must be popular enough to be researched. Secondly, they must be found to have produced Signed and Numbered Limited Edition artworks with a limited edition minimum size of at least 25.It must also have a finite edition number that will never be printed again. Please enter other artwork such as open editions under  Unregistered Limited Edition, Original Artwork, Photograph or Poster or Open Edition Print in your portfolio.

I want to list my art for sale but I cannot find where, or how to do this?

Once a piece of art has been registered and placed into My Portfolio, you will find the For Sale button under Details. Mark it For Sale or click the Create / Edit / Post ad button.  This will expand a box lower on your screen that provides a text box for you to tell prospective buyers more about your artwork. You can edit and save this ad copy as many times as you like before actually posting your ad to the Members Currently Offering pages by simply clicking the Save Ad button.  Do not forget to use the Price box to display your asking price of the artwork, too. If your currency is something different than U.S. dollars you can indicate that in the Currency box.

Once you are satisfied with the content of your listing you can then post your ad free of charge for 30-days by clicking on the Post Ad button. Your ad will not show on the Member’s Currently Offering page until you click Post Ad.  Your ad can be removed from the Member’s Currently Offering page at any time by changing its status in the section above using the radio buttons available. Do not forget to hit the Save button every time you make a change to your portfolio!

Once your ad has been posted, the 30-day timer starts and cannot be reset, but do not worry! Your ad can always be reposted for an additional 30-day period as each runs out.  You will always have access to edit or change your ad as you feel necessary.

See also the main Community page for further information regarding buying and selling of artwork.

I mistakenly marked my artwork as Sold and cannot change it. Can you help?

Yes. Please email us via the Contact Us button with the name of your artwork and we will assist you.

My personal information has changed or I would like to change my password. How do I do that?

Click on the Update My Info button.

I want to see all artworks listed for sale by members, not just a specific title. Can I do this?

Yes, simply leave all the searchable data fields blank and click on the Submit button on the Members Currently Offering page. Enter information in various fields from that point to start narrowing the selection.

I see a Limited Edition Art Print that I would like to purchase but it is not for sale by anyone. How do I add it to my Wish List?

You can go directly to the artist gallery page through the Artist Index or via your Dashboard. Once you find the LEAP you are interested in, click on "Add to my Wish List" and the LEAP will be added to your Wish List.

How will I know if my Wish List LEAP comes up for sale?

LEAPdirect will send you and email and place a notification on your Dashboard that a LEAPdirect member has put the LEAP you are interested in up for sale.

I am having a problem with my LEAPdirect account. How can I get help to correct it?

You can contact us directly at info@leapdirect.com.

I have a suggestion to improve the LEAPdirect web site. Can I contact you?

Yes, we welcome suggestions to improve LEAPdirect in ways that will benefit our members. Please send your suggestion to info@leapdirect.com.

How can I view the site better with my Mac computer?

The site can be viewed with a MAC computer by using Firefox or Safari. Download Firefox at www.mozilla.com.

What do I measure to get the dimensions?

Measure only the image of the LEAP, not the whole piece for purposes of the Portfolio Page. You can include any further information you choose in the "details" section.

I would like to record the history or provenance of my artwork. Is there somewhere I can do that?

Yes, you can record any information of your choice in the "details" section for each piece on the "My Portfolio" page.

The Approximate Value of many of the Titles listed in the Artist’s Galleries are much lower than what I think the art is worth. Sometimes they are even listed as $0 value. Is this correct?

LEAPdirect is a member driven site. New artworks are added on a daily basis, many times by our staff as we are constantly building our database for our members. When a zero value is shown it means a current market value was not available. It does not mean the art is worthless. We are building our database to include low and high values of LEAPs.  Please contact us through info@leapdirect.com with any data you would like to see updated by our staff.

I am an artist and/or I own a gallery. Can I list pieces from my inventory for sale?

Yes, we welcome artists and galleries to list their artworks on the site. This is a great venue for displaying your works to an audience interested in buying LEAPs and one-of-a-kinds. Even if you have multiple impressions of a piece you can list it just once and then communicate with your buyer what impression numbers you have available. This way you will not need to add to or change your listing on LEAPdirect and you can continue selling the work. The Community Pages under Buying and Selling has further information. Please contact us if you have any questions about listing your pieces.

My account has been suspended….Why?... and how do I get it reinstated?

If your account has been suspended, please contact us at info@LEAPdirect.com. Usually, any issues can be resolved simply and your account can be reinstated quickly. Please review the Users Agreement for further information.

How do I show my profile listing on the Member’s Profile Index?

Log in and go to your dashboard. On the right side of the screen you will see choices to make your Profile, Company Name and your Name public or private. Be sure to Save your changes.

How do I prevent other members from contacting me from my public profile page?

Log in and go to your dashboard. On the right side, at the bottom of the screen you will see a check box that will determine whether you allow other members to contact you via your public profile page. Be sure to Save your changes.

I would like to find an artist or gallery specializing in… (fill in the blank). Is there a way to do this?

Yes, go the Members Profile Index where all public profiles are listed. You can use the search box on the right side of the screen to narrow down your choices and find just what you are looking for. This, and other searches, can also be done from the Search tab found in the top navigation bar throughout the site.

Is there something I should do to keep my account active?

To keep your account “public”, for everyone to see, remember to log in to LEAPdirect.com at least once every 30 days. If you have your profile set to “Show Public”, logging in once a month will maintain your public listing in the Member Profile Index
Log in to your account and your public listing is automatically restored. We will send you a reminder email if you miss a month. But, don’t wait for us. The more active you are on your account the more successful you will be.
If you have your profile set to “Keep Private” nothing will change, but logging in to your account to keep your records up-to-date is a good idea.
