Mixed media on canvas 2009 The first few snows that hit the high country leave a dotted pattern upon the rocks and frozen ground. Ice begins to form along the edges of the lake. The autumn leaves stalwartly decorate the landscape as they wait for the inevitable. This is a scene looking north down Glacier Gorge in Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado on a beautiful summer morning. It is from an elevation of around 11 thousand feet, or "at the tree line".
