Born in Southern Florida in late 1969, Heather Brown-Truman split her childhood between Florida and the west coast of the United States. From a very early age, her creative mind was inspired by powerful words and images, and she soon began to create art from them. Her art career began 10 years ago with recycled furniture and objects d’art. She quickly graduated to oils and mixed media works on canvas. Since then, this self-taught, risk-taker has become internationally recognized and collected; her works are known as much for their skillful play of light and shadow, bold colors, and the powerful quotes that inspired the work as they are for the fact that she paints ambidextrously. The artist currently resides in the Bluegrass Region of Kentucky, with her mate, their 3 sons, 2 dogs, and 1 bad kitty.
